Application for STAND Membership

Apply below to be either:

  • a Member of STAND
  • or a member of an individual STAND Dementia Friendly Meeting Centre Space (your contact details will be shared with the facilitators of the group that you wish to attend)

From STAND’s Constitution:

STAND’s purposes are to promote the welfare of people with varying stages of dementia, in a way which could be said, either now or later, to be legally charitable.

In furtherance of this the charity will seek to;

·         Ensure that accurate, understandable and appropriate information about the various forms and stages of dementia is readily available to people with dementia and their family and friends.

·         Represent the needs and interests of people with dementia and their family and friends and utilise the skills and abilities of Stand members to raise awareness of dementia and how to live positively with it

·         Promote the availability of appropriate and accessible training to people with dementia and their family and friends.

·         Advance education through raising public awareness of dementia, and to promote the inclusion of people with dementia and their family and friends in wider society and in the community life of the area.

·         Provide relief of those in need by reason of ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage of those living with a diagnosis of dementia.

·         Develop the provision of recreational facilities and the organisation of recreational activities and groups which are relevant to the wants and needs of people with early onset dementia.

What do we use your data for:

STAND takes your privacy seriously and will only use your personal information to contact you for the normal operating of STAND.  This includes:

·         Contacting you regarding STAND news, activities, events, services, AGM and meetings

·         Contacting you regarding your membership details and renewal.

Who can see your information:

·         STAND’s Trustee Board and STAND Administrator will hold a register of members.

·         Members may request a copy of the registration of members from the Trustee Board, which, providing the request is reasonable, the Board must provide, from which they will remove sensitive data and may remove contact details.

How long do we keep your data for:

·         STAND’s Trustee Board will retain a register of former members for 2 years after the end of membership

How can you update your details in the future:

Where you do not grant consent we will not be able to use your personal data except in certain limited situations, such as where required to do so by law or to protect members of the public from serious harm.
